94 photos

Flashes of color, lives lived beneath the water as nymphs to emerge in bewitching parrot colors and take flight, ancient life forms and wetlands indicators, their appeal is timeless, their status-often as fragile as they appear to be. In the New Jersey Pinelands, damselflies were called "Devils Needles". I am fascinated by odonates.

No subjects captured or restrained-all photos shot in the field.
