Flashes of color,lives lived beneath the water as nymphs to emerge in bewitching parrot colors and take flight, ancient life forms and wetlands indicators, their appeal is timeless, their status-often as fragile as they appear to be. In the New Jersey Pinelands, damselflies were called "Devils Needles". I am fascinated by odonates.
